The dark secret Kayden has kept hidden for years is out. Worse, he’s facing charges for battery. The only way he stands a chance against the charges is if Callie speaks up, something he’ll never ask her to do.

Callie knows Kayden is going back to his dark place and desperately wants to save him. But saving him means admitting her secrets aloud. Callie and Kayden are stronger than they think, especially when they’re together. Together they move forward, face their demons, and finally start to heal from their traumatic pasts.

                                “Quotes”

“There is something about someone trusting you enough with their secrets that it makes it easier to trust them. It’s like they’re opening their heart and in return yours should open
up to them, too.”
― Jessica Sorensen, The Redemption of Callie and Kayden

“But I trusted him once and I decide to do it again. I just pray to God he doesn’t shove me down and break me, because I’m already in too many pieces and I just don’t know how much more breaking I can take.”
― Jessica Sorensen, The Redemption of Callie and Kayden

“How am I supposed to move forward in life when everything important to me is motionless?”
― Jessica Sorensen, The Redemption of Callie and Kayden

“Maybe if I try hard enough, we’ll fall into each other and become one single person and we can share our pain instead of carrying it by ourselves.”
― Jessica Sorensen, The Redemption of Callie and Kayden

                               “Review”

“Callie, tell me what you need,” I say and tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear.

“I need the world to stop being such an ugly place full of hurt.” Tears slip out of her eyes. “I need to wake up and really believe everything will be okay instead of just hoping it will be. I
want to be one of the lucky ones who has a good life.”

I nod, because that’s what I want for her too. “You can still get that. Just tell me what you need to make you happy.”

She looks me in the eye with tears streaming down her cheeks. “You.”

I loved the first book in this series & this second book didn’t disappoint, it was filled with so much heartbreak & pain but reading about how Callie & Kayden overcame their own fears & spoke up about everything that burdened them for so many years pulled at my heartstrings big time. This book isn’t a light read on the contrary, it delves into the abuse that Kayden went through  by the people that should had been there to protect him, all the suffering Callie had to battle with since she was 12 & her brother best friend commited such a vile act agaist her, even though many people shy away from reading stories like this, I don’t, because this things do  happen in real life & I like that the author brings this subject to everyone’s attention & in such a manner that putting the book down wasn’t an option for me. Also I admire the strength in the characters because many in their situation would completely shatter but they don’t, they give each other strength, support, trust & unconditional love, bringing  down the wall they built around them & finally getting their redemption.
