The Price of Retribution by Sara Craven

8 Sep

To Tarn Desmond family is everything. So when powerful tycoon Caspar Brandon all but destroys her sweet sister, Tarn is determined to make this notorious playboy pay.Caz is intrigued by the pure beauty of the new girl in his office—no one has ever said no to him before, and if anything that’s just doubled his ruthless desire for her!

As Tarn sinks deeper into her deception, her resolve falters under Caz’s sensual onslaught. She hadn’t banked on revenge costing her the ultimate price: her heart…and her body!

Tarn had always felt that it was her responsibility to take care of her foster mother and sister, Evie. Her foster father was always good to her and she felt obligated to do whatever she could to help his family now that he was gone. She had a good job, a boyfriend and a good life even though trust didn’t come easy to her but she was happy. Evie on the other hand never had any serious relationships, she didn’t have a degree so couldn’t hold any good job. When she wrote about her new position and her boss, Caz and how she was so in love with Caz and how they were both planning to marry, Tarn was very happy for her little foster sister. Once married Evie would no longer be her responsibility and from what she had been writing to her about Caz seemed like a dream come true. He was a perfect man rich, loving and caring.

Then everything went wrong, Caz called off the wedding and Evie tried to kill herself. Now she is hostage in The Refuge and facility for people like her but what worried Tarn was that Caz was one of the trustees and might had other motives for keeping Evie there.

It is up to Tarn to solve this problem and take retribution against Caz who had broken her sister’s heart. Many times she wondered if what Evie said was true or not because he seemed so nice but then she reminded herself that he was a flake because of whom Evie is lying in a hospital bed, a total mess.

This book has all the usual harlequin romance ingredients except there is no billionaire bend on taking revenge instead there is a vengeful sister who will go to any length to make one person pay for what he did to an innocent, impressionable girl. The plot is strong and the story well written and the ending is just epic.
